Dreams a.k.a. Dreams to Reality (1997)

Company: Cryo Interactive Entertainment

Start installfx.bat for the 3dfx version. Select destination drive, sound card, and installation type ('full' or 'minimum'). After copying lots of files, the installation process will abort with a 'Fatal error: unable to load DLL.' message. So expand glide2x.ovl v2.42 by running, e.g., pkunzip d:\3dfx\grtvgr.exe glide\drivers\voodoo\dos\glide2x.ovl c:\cryo\dreams For Voodoo Rush support replace \voodoo by \vrush. Type dreamsfx.exe (dated 10-Oct-1997) to start the game.

There is also an update named drms_fr.zip (French release) or drms_gr.zip (German release) available from DLH.Net. Dreams.exe and Dreamsfx.exe dated 12-Feb-1998 contain debug information not necessary for the average user. You can remove these information with the Open Watcom Executable Strip Utility (wstrip.exe) for saving 12.7 and 18.7 percent, respectively, of disk space.

Extreme Assault (1997)

Company: Blue Byte Software
Product homepage (English): http://www.bluebyte.net/eng/products/extreme-assault/index.htm
Product homepage (German): http://www.bluebyte.net/ger/products/extreme-assault/index.htm

For the German retail version update the game to version 1.1.0 for Voodoo Graphics support (glide2x.ovl v2.31), version 1.2.0 for Voodoo Rush support (glide2x.ovl v2.4), or version 1.2.3 (requires all previous updates) for Voodoo² support. Beware, that updating to version 1.2.3 deletes any glide2x.ovl from the Extreme Assault directory! So if you have a Voodoo Graphics or Voodoo Rush card, please make a backup copy before updating. For Voodoo² supply the correct glide2x.ovl after. There is no need to configure the graphics card or screen resolution by setup.exe. Just type 3dfx.exe to start the game.

Latest German or English demo versions are based on Extreme Assault 1.1.1 indeed. Therefore these demos support Voodoo Graphics only (by supplied glide2x.ovl v2.31). Again there is no need to configure the graphics card or screen resolution by setup.exe. Just type 3dfx.exe to start the demo.

Screamer Rally a.k.a. Bleifuss Rally (1997)

Company: Graffiti / Milestone for Virgin Interactive Entertainment
Product homepage: http://www.milestone.it/EN-us/games/6480/screamer-rally.htm

Screamer Rally has out-of-the-box support for Voodoo Graphics and Voodoo Rush by the use of glide2x.ovl version 2.42. To make it work with your 3Dfx card start setup.bat and the card should be detected automatically. My Screamer Rally CD also came with similar patches for Screamer 2 in directory 'B2'!

Shadow Warrior (1997)

Company: 3D Realms Entertainment
Product homepage: http://www.3drealms.com/sw/

The latest version 1.2 supports Voodoo Graphics and Voodoo², but not Voodoo Rush, by official patches. These patches are available in four different files for the shareware episode, the regular registered CD, the registered parental lock (Wal-Mart) CD, and the registered restricted (no shuriken) UK CD versions.
