Open Watcom 1.7a (final) available (Announce) |
The Open Watcom contributors have released version 1.7a on 31 October 2007.

Changes: This release only fixes a couple of regressions in 1.7 relative to 1.6. It contains no new features or bug fixes (compared to 1.7).
EDIT: Downloadable archives are renamed from RC2. So no need to download again, if you already have RC2.  ---

Have you heard anything about 1.8 beta 1? I've seen at least one person (on the OW newsgroups via Google Groups) mention it, and I'm inclined to wait until then to upgrade from 1.7a RC1. I know there is a DOS installer now and a possibly improved C++ compiler in the works, but I haven't seen anything about a possible timeframe for 1.8 to be released. (My guess is within the next 6 months to a year.) Here's hoping!  |
