[BUG] To get the facts clear, finally !!! (Users)

In the past there were some complaints about reliability of my bug reports and hints that I should use MEMTEST to find the "real" bug location, IIRC by Japheth, Laaca and Lucho ... although none of the bugs exposed symptoms typical for faulty RAM ...

... I ran MEMTEST http://memtest.org/ for > 2 hours (complete collection passed >3 times) after PC had been running for cca 3 hours before executing various challenging stuff like Arachne, Firefox, RAWRITE, Windaube idle treads, etc.

Result: exactly 0.000000000000000000000 errors occurred in the test

Regrettably I failed to close all ventilation holes of the PC or increase the surrounding temperature to at least 330 K while doing the test ... oh well :lol3:

Maybe I'll occasionally also answer to those BUG threads if I find them :-P

This is a LOGITECH mouse driver, but some software expect here

I've run memtest for 4 hours before picking up a fault :)

...not that I'm saying your bug reports aren't valid!

Is that K(ilodegrees), or (degrees) K(elvin)? Assuming the slightly more realistic degs. Kel., it would be an amusing test of your brain's memory, as well as the PC's.

Do keep us informed, if you pass the temperature test -- especially with ventilation holes closed.

BTW Try to combine more testing tools, sometimes MemTest miss a problem or display error when there's any (if mem module tested in other PC). I also use GoldMemory and DocMem in combination with memtest.

Even Memtest86 won't find all memory error, because it's just a piece of software and trying to test every bit pattern would take years!

If you still get errors, just replace your memory module. It might help.

Try mmdisk-1.4.zip from http://www.geocities.com/g_w_reynolds/files/ instead.
