BIEW bugs (DOSX) |
Well, I discovered following bugs in BIEW so far:
- Scrolling up in hex dump mode -> text vanishes when address 0 touched
- Segment prefixes not displayed in RM disassembly
- CPUID seems to find SSE3 on CPU's not really having it (see shot)
- Crash on exit occasionally
Nevertheless, a very good product
I wonder whether someone uses it and also found some of those or other bugs.
From minimal Win32 tests, the bugs seems to originate from source code, not specific to bttr's D**PP port
Things that could be improved:
- Startup (ask for file if none given or not found)
- "Text mode" -> "Formatted text mode"
- "Binary mode" -> "Unformatted text mode"
- "Hex mode" -> "Hex / Binary mode"

Yes, the Win32 build seems slightly less stable (random crashes sometimes) than the DOS build. Also, yes, the CPUID feature is slightly wrong like you said (even on AMD chips), but that kind of thing is somewhat complicated to get correct, IMO (needs lots of testing, not easy to test every combination of cpu). However, yes, the seg overrides bug (unconfirmed by me) should definitely be reported back to the author. --- Know your limits.h |

Done ! OTOH Nick seems to haven't logged in for last 1/2 year ... and there is a queue of pending bugs in the tracker --- This is a LOGITECH mouse driver, but some software expect here

Some will probably never get fixed, because poster didn't provide enough information. --- Forum admin |
