tuxpaint for win 95-98 (DOSX)

Hi,
i've tested the tux paint program for win95-98 ( www.tuxpaint.org )
The program start , display the opening image with the penguin tux and a clock thath work .. then fail becuse don't found a valid initialized audio card. i suspect if it's possible starting via command line without audio the program can run fine.
Testers are welcome..

says that you can create "tuxpaint.cfg" (in the TuxPaint folder), and then include this line:
nosound=yes

tuxpaint for win 95-98

Hi all,

thanks for suggestions , but don't solve the problem..

I've created the configuration file , but :

program start, a grey screen appears with the mouse pointer, after 1 second the welcome screen it's displayed with the penguin, an animated bar on bottom of screen and a clock..

Then program froze and the image remain blocked on screen (need rebooting)

I suppose it's a missing import of one of dll libraries supplied ..
My be patched from Japhet in next release.

Merry Xmas and happy new 2014 at all forum guys..

I'd test tuxpaint (release for win9x);
I'd run it in freedos+HX: it works fine ( any little problems about mouse precision), BUT I had to add a "new" shlwapi.dll ( from XP, about 464kb) and set dpmildr=128.

Happy new year at all

Hi Andrea,

i've download some version of shlwapi.dll from web , but only one work..
I suppose it's required the vesion you have used (xp).
The pointer of mouse have no good precision (it's difficulty to click on a command box v.s anothers near).
The paint, shape, stamps and others command after select work fine !
Seem a good paint program withouth "bells and whispers".

Have a nice 2014 to all dos users.
