hx extender on bttr programs page? (DOSX)

Hi all

as you know Japhet is "missing in action" ;-)

I thinks my be a good idea save the files (source and executable) of hx extender into bttr software page.

May be someone can be developing of this intersting software ..

I would hope to see this happen, in some way, as well. (Unfortunately, i don't have near the programming skills and knowledge to help out.)

Interestingly, Mateusz has done a similar thing with Japheth's HimemX:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/himemx/

This latest release (v3.34, 2015-Sep-05) has incorporated a number of community patches that have never been 'officially' implemented, and has had the source code's formatting cleaned-up.

Let's keep 'em both alive and growing!

Does it include my 386SX patch that I suggested to Japheth years ago? :)

Ha! I dunno -- i haven't had any personal communication with Mateusz, i was just reporting it. But i don't get the impression that Japheth intentionally passed the HimemX torch to him, i think Mateusz just decided to re-host the project to keep it going. So you'd probably need to look at Mateusz's updated source code to see if your changes are included. Or maybe just contact him directly -- he's definitely looking for more contributions (additions, bug-fixes/reports, etc)!

Yes it's present in the source code.

Yes, it does contain Ninho's 386 patch (as well as other fixes). It's exactly here:
http://sourceforge.net/p/himemx/code/7/tree//trunk/himemx.asm?diff=55e89943a02bb13f257a06b5:6

That's exactly what happened, yes. I never had much contact with Japeth. At some point I was reinstalling my venerable 386SX to test DOSMid (among other things), and I got stuck with XMS support. Only many hours of testing/debugging/investigating I noticed that an unofficial patch exists, that makes HimemX compatible with 386SX - and it worked flawlessly on my hardware. At this moment I decided no one should endure the pain I had to go through, so I forked HimemX to sourceforge and tested/applied all community patches I could find.

Hehe, I know this debugging sessions all night very well :)
BTW I still have one Halikan NBC 386SX-25/3M laptop for testing.

Did anyone ever find out what happened to him?
