drdos.org? Club Dr-DOS Wiki - gone for good? (Miscellaneous)

DOS386/anyone? Several months ago I was sadden to notice that the Club Dr-DOS Wiki ( http://www.drdos.org/ ) which I infrequently lurked on, has apparently now been shutdown. Does anyone know what the situation is there? I also noted the absence of DOS386 on here since mid-June ?!?

drdos.org? Club Dr-DOS Wiki - gone for good?

I was just about to ask the same question!

I don't know the reason, but i share your reaction. I think our forum here is a better source of "late-breaking" news, but i liked the Club's "category" pages for summaries of DOS apps and issues (for example, "USB drivers", "Media Players", "HX", etc).

I'm guessing that Wayback would probably contain the archives... but they would be frozen.

Well to expand on my post I have also noted that DOS386's latest post on the Flat assembler board which he moderates appears to be "17 Jun 2012, 06:58", his latest FreeDOS freedos-user mailing post appears to have been on "Thu Jun 14 21:00:08 2012" and on his latest BTTR forum post was I believe "17.06.2012, 09:33".

Therefore based on all this I am actually more concerned that DOS386 is ok than anything else. Others on here know him better than I do, so can someone drop him a quick email to check he's ok? And to let him know that we concerned. Thx

I also noticed earlier this week that the wiki was down. Isn't it run by Flox (Florian Xavier)?

Why would we be overly worried about him? I mean, it's only been two months, and he's often disappeared for longer than that without warning, so I have no reason to believe it's any different this time. I'm sure (and hope) he's fine. And yes, he was a big contributor to the wiki.

Ah I thought it was DOS386 due to his significant number of posts!

Ok great. I also sent an email to the 404 email address asking for the new location of the site. Haven't heard anything back yet. Did you?

Yes. He accidentally deleted the wiki during backup. It will be restored on weekend. :-)

I'm not yet permanently dead :-|

"drdos.org" is still dead.

I do have an up-to-date (2012-Jun) local backup of most of the stuff located there.

I sent a mail to FloX today.

Indeed :( I incorrectly thought it was your site due to all your posts there!

I thought, that I had an older backup. Then I made another backup. But because of the late hour I was tired... and it seems that I have deleted the version on the webspace. And the old backup had been deleted too some time ago...

Now a new Wiki is online. Do you want a username/password?

Apparently he has mirrored it and got it working. I just found it by googling something up: http://www.xaver.me/drdoswiki/index.php. Don't remember seeing it mentioned here.

Anyway by the age of the last comment, it seems to be moderately active.
