Error message during program install (DOSX)

I haven't used DOS since the 1990's but I had a spare Intel i5 computer so I decided to install FreeDOS on it and load up my old Clipper 5.2 which I used to love programming with. The computer has a 1TB hard drive that I formatted in FAT32. FreeDOS installed fine and seemed to work pretty much like MS-DOS. When I tried to install Clipper 5.2 however, I got an error message stating “You do not appear to have the minimum access rights to Drive C: which is required for installation.”

I have never seen an error like that in DOS before. Anyone have any thoughts on what would cause this or anyone have a fix for it? I would really like to get Clipper working again.

Any help is very much appreciated.Thanks.

For me it is looks like overflow, when calculate free space
or try work with network api.

PS: I have "Clipper 5.2 Demo" distro box, but have no time for databases.

Thank you for the response. I guess I may have to partition the drive and reinstall FreeDOS again. If I remember correctly, I can only have 4 partitions on the drive. I'll see if that helps.

Thanks again.

PS: I also have Clipper 5.3 which I purchased in 1993 but v5.3 had some problems that caused the program to crash periodically.

Partitioned the 1TB drive into 4 partitions, the first with a size of 1GB and the rest divided into 310GB each. I then installed FreeDOS again and then I was able to install Clipper 5.0 successfully. Many thanks for the help.
