Sound Blaster Live! initialization fails (Users) |
Hi,
Can I ask you about emulation soundcard SB-live, I can`t initialize card
with sbinit.com when I use jemmex manager. UIDE is remove from config.sys
it works when I use memory managers from FreeDOS-1.
I do it on EDR-DOS-7.1.0.7

error message is about sbinit cannot initialize souncard ...
I think that refer first 4MB RAM, that sbinit cannot find memory ... |

No necessarily. I also have a SB Live and use jemmex, and there is no problem. jemmex doesn't use that much extended memory for itself. You must NOT use jemm's MIN= option, however. It causes extended memory to be reserved statically. --- MS-DOS forever! |

Yes, works. DOSLFN must be remove then works with JEMMEX well |

Yes, there are few TSR/Drivers which consumes EMS/XMS which allocate from the beginning so it's necesarry to put sbemu driver before loading them. E.g. disk cache may cause this problem, but I wouldn't suspect DOSLFN. Anyway you had solved it, OK. --- DOS gives me freedom to unlimited HW access. |
