Sparrow Commander by Valery Afanasyev (Announce)

"Sparrow Commander" is a tiny (around 15 KB) clone of the popular file
manager "Norton Commander". It was designed for DOS version 2.0 or better.
It consumes very little memory, so little, that can be, in fact, used as a
shell interpreter replacement.

Original development ceased at version 1.20 in the year 1995.

In 2022, at version 1.21 it was modified to include support for cp1251
encoding and the package offered binaries with different color themes.

Changes from version 1.21 to 1.23 (year 2025):
- Fixed F10 exit which is now fully clean (No longer displays an untidy prompt leftover).
- Fixed strings: "Cansel" to "Cancel"
"Subdirectory it is not empty" to "Subdirectory is not empty"
"You can't copy a file to inself" to "You can't copy a file onto itself"
- Removed the CTRL + Z shortcut to stop the CPU (designed exclusively for the
Soviet PC compatible computer "Assistant" model 86/128 from around 1989-1991).
- Added CTRL + Q hotkey to quit program without requesting confirmation.
- Reworked both default SP.MNU and SP.HLP:
Now by default, F2 and RETURN do shell to DOS. Enter EXIT to get back to Sparrow.
F1/Help has been updated to match features and text has been revised.

- By default, the only color theme supplied is "Norton Commander" style.

I hope you enjoy it.

Interesting, quite similar to Mikro Manazer, even with inability to recursive delete non-empty dirs. But it has quick file search via ALT+letter. Mikro Manazer has quick rename of file when both panels are at the same dir. I guess the speed on slow computers (PC-XT) would be also similar...
