	I accidentaly found a free scandisk like tool (unfortunately without source) which works also in DOS. Bad side is that it must be installed from Windows: http://www.mdgx.com/files/DISKMIND.EXE

FreeDOS doesn't have SCANDISK, only CHKDSK (and DOSFSCK, which Eric Auer suggests instead if you don't need 16-bit cpu compatibility). --- Know your limits.h
