In past December, i make automated toolkit for this.
Yes, it is like LZ-DOS (and. unfortunatelly, was forced to use part of code from LZ preloader). But, now it is MORE, than LZ-DOS :)
In short, now is possible call any user code BEFORE jump into IO.SYS.
For example, there is packed (and heavy patched) IO.SYS 7.10 2001 w/o logo, but with integrated font loader and Cyrillic 8x16 font.
