Most sites have a "mobile" version which is more lightweight and usually contains much less javascr***. For example, Facebook's got one.
Links is great. It works very well in a low memory Linux environments. DJGPP version has some overhead, but if you have enough memory it will work fine.
Although, it might not work in extremly low memory environments (1-4 MiB).
