You're downplaying the importance of labels, comments and documentation, and the relocations and relations of data that assembly language source can offer over mere disassembly. There is a reason they call it "the preferred form of the work for making modifications to it" as the GNU GPL puts it. Disassembly is not even close to that if you wrote readable assembly language to create a program.
