Yugoslavian Computer Magazine Covers of the 1980s-90s (Miscellaneous)

posted by bocke, 18.04.2024, 11:34

A while ago I actually looked up the 80-ies covers of computer magazines from Europe and there were quite a few that had female models on the cover (like some German ones). So, we are not really unique with this. It was trendy at the time. :-P Rayer's post proves this too. :-)

Anyway, "Racunari" (en: The Computers) was a bit different as they featured a different model on every cover. You could also find a small info on a model in a small info box at the one of the first few pages of the mag. They started doing this somewhere in the second half of the 80ies and stopped somewhere in mid-nineties. The magazine was published by a big publisher that also published many other magazines so it's not that strange they had a fashion photographer available. :)

Although, the mag eventually folded-out (Is that the right expression? I mean: they stopped publishing new issues.) and most people moved over to a new magazine "PC Press" made by some of the founders of "Racunari". Unlike "Racunari" that was published by (then) state-owned "BIGZ", "PC Press" was a completely private commercial endavour so they were not limited with poor management and bad financial state of "BIGZ" publishing house in the second half of the nineties.
