IIRC DOS game development stopped at cca 100 MHz ... and having QEMU with 10x slowdown and 1 GHz CPU's nowadays considered "obsolete and slow" ... is there really space for a problem ?

Doesn't MPXPLAY work with your SB Live card natively ?
