You piqued my interest... I also think Hexen 2 is probably one of the best (ie, most technically advanced, taking advantage of modern hardware, etc). What games do you think are "better" / more advanced for DOS only? One could argue AdvanceMame is better, but then you're talking about an emulator there (albeit a very, very, good one!). An arguement could be made for Descent 2 / Tomb Raider, but the latter doesn't support high resolutions (ie, does not have high-resolution texture-map data available) in DOS, and does not take advantage VBE3.
