Modern hardware (Miscellaneous)

Hmm... I have purpose - lets discuss modern-made hardware here (forum).
Many motherboards and sound-card is recreated (and available on market).

For (curious) example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drXkA7xGNrc

(I had find it with this lot on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/154024411259 )

PS: I am not affiliated with PCB-author, video channel or seller.
PPS: For me, this looks is so ugly, so i'll try it :)

No, I don't know any. But it's not problem of PCI soundcard but the chipset and PCI bridges. Maybe on PCIe it would be different. The best DOS compatible card you can get in PCI is the Yamaha YMF7x4 as I wrote about it on my site, it has dsdma driver that works with some games like Blood, DN3D...

Of course, I know the article on your site. If the Yamaha YMF7x4 works it could be a basement for next homebrew development.

However you are lucky that it works so nicely for you because not everybody has such a luck - see here: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=61256

What do you want to change on hardware? I don't see strong reason to remake this YMF cards, maybe just integrating wavetable...

Yes, it's true, AFAIK only 5x and 6x chipsets are confirmed. It probably depends on dsdma driver compatability with particular boadr/bios. If there would be dsdma sources available it might be possible to fix/extend it's compatability.
