ZIP 3.0g "release candidate" + Unzip 6.0d "beta" (Users)

http://sourceforge.net/projects/infozip/

http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=362594&group_id=118012

"Notes:
Zip 3.0g is a release candidate. Please send in any
final bugs to fix before release.

These are beta versions of Zip 3.0 in development. THESE
ARE NOT RELEASES. The main code tree for Zip 3.0 is
constantly under development but the code here seems
stable enough for developers to test and suggest changes.

Public betas have names like zip30g.zip, where the g
represents the beta version. Later letters are later
versions of the code.

Contact us for the latest code and release schedule. Enjoy!

Changes:
Zip 3.0g Release Candidate

This may be close to release. Please evaluate this beta
carefully and post any problems before we package for
release.

We have posted Zip Beta 3.0g, February 3rd 2008. This is
a beta release, but is more or less complete and is
considered a release candidate. See the file WhatsNew
for a list of major features implemented and what's left.

The archive reading and writing code in Zip 3.0 has been
redone to support split archives. We've extensively tested
the code over the last year, but you should thoroughly test
it yourself before relying on it. Also note that Unicode
support has been added and should comply with the latest
AppNote, but is still new and so may need refining.

Please test this beta and let us know if we're ready to
officially release Zip 3.0.

New things in Zip 3.0g
- Add split support to VB project for Zip64.

- Disable reading of Unix FIFOs unless new -FI option used to avoid an
archiving operation stopping when it hits an active unfed FIFO.

- The [list] wildcard expression (regular expression matching of any
character or range of characters in list) is now disabled on DOS and
Windows as it has caused confusion when filenames have [ and ] in
them. The new -RE option reenables it.

- Add negation to many display options such as -dc and -db.

- Allow -FF to read and fix archives having local entries that appear
after central directory entries.

- Many small bug fixes."

"Notes:
These are beta versions of UnZip 6.0 in development. THESE
ARE NOT RELEASES. The main code tree for UnZip 6.0 is
constantly under development but the code here seems stable
enough for developers to test and suggest changes.

Public betas have names like unzip60d.zip, where the d
represents the beta version. Later letters are later
versions of the code.

Contact us for the latest code and release schedule. Enjoy!

Changes:
UnZip 6.0d has many bug fixes and preliminary Unicode support,
as well as VMX and Unix updates and bzip2 changes. See the
file History.600 for release details. This beta seems more
stable and, if the momentum holds up, a release may be coming
soon. Please test and send in the bug reports!"

Same here, but djdev203p2 works fine. Maybe you could report this problem to the Info-Zip team.

Same error even with the latest ZIP 3.0h (May 31, 2008) except with 2.03p2, as mentioned. More annoying is the lack of Bzip2 via -Z despite such a library available for DOS. :-( At least we have 7-Zip. :-D

It's a pity, that David didn't report this problem to Info-Zip guys.

I had reported the problem to Ed Gordon yesterday. He pointed me to an internal development beta version 3.0i. I built from sources and this problem was gone. :-)

Zip 3.0 will now support bzip2 compression on DOS. :-)
