b64 version 0.06 available (build) (Announce)

On 17 August 2012 I finished my 16-bit DOS build of Bob Trower's b64 version 0.06 using Digital Mars C/C++ version 8.52.

Latest version 0.12 has a bug in the decoding function, which prevents recreating the original file. I've already sent a bug report to Bob, but didn't get any response.

A binary and fully configured sources plus some simple instructions on how to rebuild are available at http://www.bttr-software.de/ports/.

Also included are batch files to build the b64.exe binary using LSI C-86 version 3.30c and Open Watcom C/C++ version 1.9. LSI C-86 generates a smaller binary than Digital Mars C/C++, while Open Watcom C/C++ is more free.

For a discussion about the execution speed of the different binaries, please see this thread: Testers needed (benchmarking 'b64')
