OSx16/32 (Users)

Hi,
do you know this DOS-like OS?
https://gryftech.wordpress.com/home/osx16-operating-system/
It looks interesting because it include USB UHCI/EHCI driver for generic audio class device that should emulate some SB16 or so to play some DOS games and emulators. I booted the disk image via GRUB4DOS but after executing OSx32c it halted during detection of my EHCI (it halted sooo hard that even pressing reset button doesn't do anything and I have to press power button).

But maybe someone else will have a luck on his PC, I'm curious how well it works...

For me, using 86Box, I cannot even boot the disk image... it didn't find the OS...

So I uncompress OSXFMT.EXE and I extract the floppy bootsector to manage building a boot floppy, but I got error after loading OSX32LDR.SYS.

So I remove it from the config.sys and I manage to boot.

Of course as it didn't load OSX32LDR.SYS, OSX32C.EXE didn't want to start.

Anyway here is the floppy image I build https://www3.zippyshare.com/v/1UQIEyNb/file.html

It seems to not support shell command in config.sys and it din't support config.sys menu.

You can try to boot that HDD image via GRUB4DOS/GRUB1

A lines fo menu.lst

title OSx16
#CHS: x,14,40
map --mem (hd0,0)/OSX16.IMG (hd0)
map (hd0) (hd1)
map --hook
chainloader (hd0,0)+1
rootnoverify (hd0,0)

I'd like to hear if the USB sound would work. But I think it's not usable for a new PC with USB 3.0 XHCI...

I tried your floppy and enabled OSX32LDR.SYS in config.sys and it boots. But OSX32C hangs while probing USB same as from HDD image. I give up nothing usefull for me...
