	Could somebody tell me please: when I run a File manager like DN and let to display the clock, under Bochs it runs very fast (as well as the promt blinks), while under VMware it runs at normal/real speed. Do I have to set something in Bochs before I start it?

What host OS?
What Bochs version?

These are timing issues and probably related to the value of IPS (Instructions Per Second). IIRC IPS handling has changed since 2.3.x releases. Please ask at "bochs-developers" for more information.

I observed similar problem in BOCHS 2.3.7 (XP SP3) but didn't tried newer. BTW BOCHS 2.4.x doesn't longer run under Win9x :(

May I suggest you gave Bochs a second chance ? It does run perfectly under Win 9x - viewing this thread as, by coincidence, I just updated to 2.4.6 from 2.4.5 yesterday. Using the official precompiled release here, no problem at all, all versions since 1.dot.something have worked for me in Windows 98 SE as well as Win 2k (and even occasionally in pure DOS thanks Japheth's HX). Check your settings, paths and all the obvious - I needn't tell you this kind of things...

Case it's something else than you testing at one of those bad moments, please make your statement "doesn't run..." more precise. At what stage did it fail, or did it really not launch at all ? I sense you can repair this faster than I would type a list of suggestions...

Unfortunately HX does not provide yet for switching windows, that would be required in order to use Bochs with its integrated debugger...

Perhaps you will explain why you changed the title to "does NOT run..." even with capitalised NOT, thus contradicting the evidence ? Are you also like MArtin having problems, or do you mean to convey you don't care or want to use Bochs in Win 9x ? But it does work very well with no known quirks!
