Plop boot manager (internal USB support) (Users)

Do you know the Plop boot manager?
It's interesting that it contains built-in USB (OHCI/UHCI/EHCI) and CD-ROM driver so it let you boot from this media without BIOS support.

The USB support is interesting. A key point from the website:
"The Plop Boot Manager is not a Linux loader and cannot start Linux without LILO, GRUB, Syslinux and similar!

I just wonder there's another USB implementation besides Bret's and Georg's, unfortunatelly no source (not needed by me but maybe it would helps Bret to implement EHCI).

Indeed. Still the more the merrier.

Did you also see this post although USB a very basic level?

There is some good EHCI info out there, so I guess as with all these things it comes down to time. I remember Linux taking ages (or it at least it seemed that way) to implement USB with a far large group of developers. Even then 2.5.2 etc seemed to take even longer to spread. Fortunately most Linux projects now support USB but I'm impressed with what Bret and Georg (and a few others) have achieved.

Yes, I've been using PLoP via floppy for a few months here since this P4 doesn't boot via USB. Works well! :-)

Hard to imagine Linux ever lacking drivers or developers for anything! Heck, they were (I think) the first to support USB 3.0 (which I don't even know if it's out yet). I still think there are too many (overlapping, esp. Ubuntu-based) Linux distributions.

Hm, I tried but none of 3 progs works for me. It just hangs and don't display anything when plugging various USB devices :\
