Well, I did a quick test in VMWare (installation CD).
Yes, NTVDM can run Doom now (no sound) :)

but it is still quirky, e.g. DJGPP programs throws strange error at start-up:

Also some DOS programs can hang whole reactOS, sometimes jut NTVDM breaks and system needs reboot or close/open new window.
