Windows 10 will soon support running Ubuntu ELF binaries (Emulation)

I almost hate to bring this up, it's highly off-topic, but ...

http://www.hanselman.com/blog/DevelopersCanRunBash...lAndUsermodeUbuntuLinuxBinariesOnWindows10.aspx

So MS does (again) have interest in binary compatibility on NT (but not for DOS or OS/2, is anyone really surprised??).

And no, this is not related to (dead) SFU/Interix, (recompiled) Cygwin, or even Hyper-V (Win8 Pro 64-bit) VMs or containers.

*BSD already had Linux emulation, and even qemu-*-user supports (only) BSD, Darwin, and Linux.

Heck, even DOS had a few old ELF toolsets that helped (barely) with compatibility.

Honestly, this is good news. But we'll have to wait and see how it pans out.
