If the program really crashes the system (and doesn't just terminate) when aborted by Ctrl-C, it should really hook (at least) Int23 and _ignore_ the Ctrl-C. Or the installed Int23 handler should unhook all hooked interrupts (other than 22, 23 and 24) and return to DOS to terminate without crashing.
