Yes, I wondered as much but wasn't sure. I dunno why he's so sensitive. (Too many hamburgers? Heh.)

Not really, but "Order" sorting helps (as does the red arrow for new messages). Still, it can be confusing. No forum software is perfect.

GNASH-related info follows (for Japheth's eyes only)

Okay, so I'm on Vista right now, and trying to run GNASH-Win32 0.8.1 ("fourth alpha release") in DOSBox 0.72 via the latest HXRTD.ZIP needed MSVCRT.DLL (grrr), and even that didn't work (doh). So, I'm at a loss to how useful it could be (unless someone wants to recompile statically ... be my guest).

Of course, the real problem (besides too many useless posts, oops) is that Flash is proprietary (like many things :lookaround: ), so GNU has quite a ways to go to match it. I honestly don't see the appeal, why would anyone even want to use it?

I tried finding examples to test, but it seems some people don't want you to download 'em directly (ahem, Adobe? No save option??). You can get around that, but I chose to focus on publicly available examples. Anyways, I ended up having to View Source in the web browser, copy / paste the .SWF file's URL, then wget it and then manually run fltk-gnash.exe on it (usually unsuccessfully, the compatibility ain't too great right now, even most of the Win32 menu options don't really work).

These four examples seem to work fine in GNASH. To be more convenient, I've .ZIP'd 'em up for download here (46k) so you don't have to waste time doing the above-mentioned workaround just to get a decent example or two. So, if you get GNASH running (after recompile?) in pure DOS, try these, they should work. But don't expect all the latest / greatest Flash 9 crud to work too because it won't.

P.S. GNASH-0.8.1-WIN32-AGG-FLTK-FFMPEG.ZIP (binaries only, no srcs) is 7,676,886 bytes! (Dialup users beware!)
