Youtube videos with MPlayer? (Miscellaneous)

Has any an idea how to separate from Youtube sites the video URLs to play them via MPlayer?

I guess these terms are only presented when you create an account, I didn't create one, so a did not accept them (I didn't even see them anywhere before ). And there is something more interesting: Youtube API. So YouTube page is clearly not the only allowed way to play the content.

1) Quoting paragraph 1A: "By ... visiting this website ..., you signify your agreement to (1) these terms ..."
2) "Ignorance is no excuse in law."

OK ... I found the link to "Terms of use" at the bottom of the page now. So I agree with you on that point. Still it would be difficult for them to enforce such terms in a court of law, because once you see those "Terms of use" you are already on a page and have already "accepted" the terms. And you can come to the page through a link from some other page and view the content even before you have a technical possibility to read the "Terms of use".

Depends. Ignorance of law is not an excuse. But ignorance of facts is.
It is common that web pages don't have some special terms of use. If some page does have them, IMHO the user should have at least a chance to read them before he gets the chance to violate them. The "Terms of use" should be more exposed.

How many people ignoring the "Terms of Use" were bound "to take the way" to the court located in San Mateo County, California, and had to suffer penalities for YouTube's "Terms of Use" infringements, i. e. for their ignorance (I hope you remarked my word play)? In this situation Rayer's reply seems to me the best reaction. Please be aware of the fact that I disagree with any YouTube's "Terms of Use" violation!

Fortunately for us, Google does not make the law, and visiting a website does not signify any form of contractual agreement.

If it did, I would put on my website:

"By visiting this website, you agree that you are legally obligated to send me all of your life savings and any attractive daughters between the ages of 18 and 25."

	Oh, and I might add, using another website to download videos means you're not visiting their website anyway ;) I use youtube-dl, by the way. Perhaps a port of that is in order.

Irrelevant, refuse to read. FYI, there is a legal solution:

- Avoid Lootube
- Produce all your movies in .OGV format (OGG container + Theora codec, maybe Dirac soon)
- Pressure video hosting services to accept OGV files
- If you are a non-DOSSER, get Firefox 3.1 supporting reportedly HTML 5.0 video tag + OGG + Theora + Vorbis natively
- If you have a homepage, use video tag + OGG + Theora
- Put Lootube on your craplist instead of advertising it
