Soundcard emulation in DOS on non-legacy hardware. Possible? (Emulation)
Knowing beforehand that my simple idea would have a difficult and complex answer, I am still surprised at the depth of the response.
By the looks of it, it seems feasible to create a generic solution for sound and graphics. For a wider user base I think a tsr is better than updating the bios because it't not permanent and easier to troubleshoot for a noob like me.
Looking into the intel VBIOS I found something from 2014 that might be useful.
