Compilation speed with GCC (Developers)

Doesn't Delphi use an incremental linker? At least, Borland C Builder 5.5 supposedly does, and things like that (which MS also uses, but not GNU?) greatly speed up things.

BTW, did you know that the following IDEs were all written in Delphi / FreePascal? (Ah, the irony.) Wonder why. ;-)
