Yes, the total production of electricity is greater than imports but it has nothing to do with stability and short drops that have to be covered from foreign production. The graph at https://energy-charts.info/charts/power/chart.htm?...tacking=stacked_absolute_area&interval=year
shows like it goes wild from min to max due to renewables. I think that best use of renewables are on houses where it's consumed locally but not in large scopes that destabilize the global grid.
Otherwise you have to admit that electricity will not be available everytime for everyone but the consumption will be strictly limited by spot prices that you will pay - e.g. on sunny/windy day the price will be 100x lower than in gloomy still day and lot of people would simply cannot pay for that - this is not a progress.
I know that building nuclerar power plants was delayed on many places and price has incerased but everything growed up due to inflation, also price of electricity has increased and noone can guess for next 10 years. In our case it's easier that we will not build a new plant on a green field but just add reactor blocks to existing infrasteucture.
