V86 compatibility? Yes, Jemm386 v5.8 (Announce)

posted by RayeR Homepage, CZ, 27.10.2020, 06:54

I tried new version but it doesn't work for me. I load:

DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEMSX.EXE /METHOD:FAST /NUMHANDLES=64 /VERBOSE
DEVICE=C:\DOS\JEMM386.EXE SPLIT FASTBOOT VERBOSE

The XMSSTAT sees the super-extended area:

XMS call address: 29b:83e
XMS version: 3.50, driver version: 3.80
HMA handled by XMS host, HMA is allocated
v2 free memory largest/total (kB): 65535/65535
v3 free memory largest/total (kB): 3594344/3594344, highest addr: df78ffff
v3.5 free memory > 4GB largest/total (kB): 507904/507904
XMS handle table at 29b:38, handle cnt/size=96/10
XMS handle array at 29b:890

but rdisksx cannot create ramdisk there.
And there's another problem that running any DJGPP program cause JEMM to crash: http://www.rayer.g6.cz/1tmp/jemm.jpg

When I replace HIMEMSX by normal HIMEMX it doesn't crash (and of course don't have SXMS). When I load HIMEMSX without JEMM then rdisksx and DJGPP progs work OK.

DOS gives me freedom to unlimited HW access.
