This Mplayer build doesn't set the mtrrs, neither for vesa nor for vidix. The mttrs should still be set manually. In theory there is no difference (I am not aware of any) concerning the vesa output code comparing to Mik's builds. In practice, with the video files I tested, I can really see no difference. But if you get worse video, this is perhaps caused by some regressions in Mplayer
