I can compile PAQ8o8 to smaller than that, and it's an actually useful program! Try not using C++ streams crap, use the C-based "stdio" instead. Also, "-Os -march=i386" might help. And provide your own dummy functions for env.var. file loading and globbing (see CRT0.H). Oh, and read this.
