I meant using 7-Zip to make *.zip archives. It packs tighter than Info-ZIP and others (except on very small, or already compressed original files like JPEGs, which are not an issue here). Unpacking works with any current unzipper, .

There are other solutions too, easy to apply and needing really only a few minutes preparation. How hard is it to download an archiver/compressor and look up its commands for insertion into a script?

This might seem trivial, compared to all the other work of building a package, but reduced download time might go a long way in encouraging users to get the product.
